ALI's mission is to guide our clients to identify and consistently operate from their own unique True North

Few paths are more rewarding or more challenging than operating as an Authentic Leader. Being authentic is not a license to “just be myself.” It requires knowing one’s True North and being appropriate to the situation at hand. Authentic Leadership must express itself differently on the manufacturing floor than in the corporate boardroom. At the same time, if a leader plays a role that is not his/her authentic self, no one will be fooled.

Our one-on-one coaching program is designed to help leaders deepen their ability to uncover and operate from their Authentic Leadership, acting within the real-world dynamics of their organizational environment. We have all experienced times when we were able to operate from this basis. All too often, though, our ability to draw upon it is fleet when we need to make decisions, set direction, or influence others.

Our coaching brings together our extensive experience in the area of Authentic Leadership. Our approach is grounded in our work with the True North Authentic Leadership program at Harvard Business School. We have also co-designed and delivered the MIT Sloan Distributed Leadership Model coaching program for top executives and have worked in the area of sports psychology related to states of high performance. 

Through this coaching program, you will:

  • Understand who you are as an Authentic Leader
  • Learn to invoke your Authentic Leadership
  • Shift your key limiting beliefs about your leadership so they become powerful allies
  • Develop the ability to invoke and operate by choice from your Authentic Leadership in your day-to-day business context
  • Develop an individual and organizational leadership roadmap to define the playing field you want to operate from as an Authentic Leader in the organization

Structure of the Coaching includes

Initial session: two hours

  • Outline the program
  • Define the desired outcomes of the program
  • Define areas/situations that present the biggest challenge to operating as an Authentic Leader
  • Define areas/situations in which you are most effective as an Authentic Leader
  • Define the work to be done in preparation for the one-day coaching session
  • Decide if 360 interviews are needed
  • Initiate the Reflective Best Self Process

Full one-day one-on-one work session:

  • Understand who you are as an Authentic Leader
  • Learn to invoke your Authentic Leadership
  • Shift your key limiting beliefs about your leadership so that they become powerful allies
  • Develop an individual and organizational leadership roadmap to define the playing field you want to operate from as an Authentic Leader in the organization
  • Review the insights from the Reflective Best Self Process

Six Bi-weekly one-hour coaching sessions:

  • Reinforce your ability to lead when needed
  • Work to further define your Authentic Leadership roadmap, for yourself and the organization
