The Authentic Leadership Institute is proud of its association with some of the best leaders, researchers and change agents in the area of authentic leadership. Of particular note is our association with Bill George, professor of management practice, and Henry B. Arthur, Fellow in ethics at Harvard Business School, and the former chairman and CEO of Medtronic Corporation. A tireless leader, mentor, speaker, writer and teacher, Bill George's mission is to foster the development of authentic leaders at all levels and all walks of life. He fulfills this mission, in part, through writing and teaching, public appearances, serving on corporate and philanthropic boards, and collaborating with other luminaries in the field of authentic leadership.

Andrew McLean began collaborating with Bill George at Harvard Business School in 2004 in a partnership producing more than a dozen Harvard Business School teaching cases for "Authentic Leadership Development", and an ongoing research collaboration publishing articles in leading peer-reviewed journals. "Authentic Leadership Development" has become an immensely popular elective course pioneered by Bill George within the MBA program, and the basis of the best-selling book True North.

In 2007, Bill George, Andrew McLean and Nick Craig began collaborating on several initiatives of mutual interest - including a book project, public-enrollment courses and corporate-based leadership development initiatives to bring new tools for authentic leadership development to discerning and motivated audiences.

The True North Personal Guide, the book project mentioned, will be published in Spring, 2008.  It is co-written by Bill, Andrew, and Nick.  This book takes the Harvard Business Review research documented in True North and provides detailed exercises designed to allow one to access his/her authenticity as a leader.
