Bill George, former CEO of Medtronic and author of Finding Your True North, Finding Your True North A Personal Guide & 7 Lesons for Leading in Crisis

The Authentic Leadership Institute is proud of its association with some of the best leaders, researchers, and change agents in the area of authentic leadership. Of particular note is our association with Bill George, professor of management practice, and Henry B. Arthur Fellow in ethics at Harvard Business School, and the former chairman and CEO of Medtronic Corporation. A tireless leader, mentor, speaker, writer, and teacher, Bill George's mission is to foster the development of authentic leaders at all levels and all walks of life. He fulfills this mission, in part, through writing and teaching, public appearances, serving on corporate and philanthropic boards, and collaborating with other luminaries in the field of authentic leadership.

In 2007, Bill George and Nick Craig began collaborating on several initiatives of mutual interest - including a recent book project, public-enrollment courses, and corporate-based leadership development initiatives to bring new tools for authentic leadership development to discerning and motivated audiences.

The True North Personal Guide, the book project mentioned above, was published in Spring 2008.  It is co-written by Bill, Andrew, and Nick.  This book takes the Harvard Business Review research documented in True North and provides detailed exercises designed to allow one to access his/her authenticity as a leader.
