Anne Kemp, Senior Consultant - Canada

Anne Kemp is a Senior Consultant for the Authentic Leadership Institute, a leadership consulting firm committed to creating leaders and organizations with a deeper purpose and the courage to transform their business impact.

Client work with the Institute has included the oil and gas industry.

Outside of the Institute, Anne is President of Berkeley Developmental Resources in Canada, a consulting firm established in 1983 and committed to improving the performance of client organizations and of their senior leaders.  Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Anne held executive positions in Human Resources at MDS Health, CIBC and the Wellesley Hospital. She has held leadership roles in both professional associations and in the community not-for profit sector. Anne is a past President of the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario and a member of the Human Resource Planning Society. She has written several articles on leaders and the management of strategic change.

Anne works with executives, boards and human resource professionals assisting them to execute their vision and strategy through effectively managing themselves, their organizations and change. She has significant experience with mergers, growth and culture change and with the strategies, values, human resource processes and leadership roles necessary to achieve success in these endeavors. Her clients are predominantly well-established organizations in the corporate and the private sector as well as professional service firms including Enbridge Gas Distribution, Devon Energy, Ontario Lottery and Gaming, Loblaws Companies, Manulife Financial, Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan, Hoffmann LaRoche, Northern Health Authority of BC, Government of Ontario, The Canadian Press, British American Tobacco and Soberman LLP. Anne has worked in Canada, the United States and England.

Anne has been a coach to a number of executives and understands the complex issues of integrity, accountability, stakeholder relations and continuous learning that leaders today face. Unlike some approaches to leadership coaching, Anne does not shy away from the complexity of most organizational issues. She doesn’t narrow down the problem when it is multi-faceted and, in that way, build’s her client’s capacity for ongoing management of their organizations.

Anne was a founder and faculty member of the Advanced Program in Managing Strategic Change at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She is also a core faculty member of the Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility offered through the University of Toronto and the Conference Board of Canada. She has a Master’s degree in Organization and Human Resource Development.

 Anne enjoys personal challenges and has a passion for the environment; recently she experienced the thrill of successfully climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.
