Hank Kinzie is a Senior Consultant for the Authentic Leadership Institute, a leadership consulting firm committed to creating leaders and organizations with a deeper purpose and the courage to transform their business impact.
Client work with the Institute has spanned the oil and gas, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical industries.
Based in Chicago, Illinois, Hank Kinzie is an executive coach, organizational consultant, attorney and certified mediator. A former U.S. Naval officer, he has also served as a lobbyist in legislative and regulatory settings as well as a mediator helping organizations and individuals resolve conflict. Prior to entering military service, he worked as an actuary in the casualty insurance field. Afterward, he taught at Chicago’s Loyola University School of Law.
Hank works with leaders to help them leverage their strengths while finding ways to address their development opportunities in a positive manner. Sharing stories of successes and challenges allow executives and their teams to mine their experience, retool to meet change, negotiate conflict and clarify a deeper sense of purpose. He believes that leaders are made, not born, and that the mantle of leadership carries responsibility and the rich potential for significant impact on individuals, their personal relationships, the organizations they work in, and the world.
His work outside the Institute spans a variety of industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and household products, information technology, professional sports management, financial services and investment banking. His clients include ExxonMobil, Caterpillar Inc., General Motors Corp., Unilever Corporation, ComEd, State Farm, Allstate, Sanofi-Adventis, AstraZeneca, Takeda/Millennium, Macrovision, Flexera Software, IfByPhone, financial and asset-management firms ranging from family held organizations to State Street Bank. He currently consults with the Green Bay Packers Corporation, focusing on strategic leadership in challenging regional circumstances.
Hank is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the International Coach Federation. In addition to his law degree, he also holds a Masters of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary.
Hank holds a BA from Lawrence University, an M.Div from McCormick Theological Seminary and a J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
Hank resides in Evanston, Illinois, with his wife and has four grown daughters and four grandsons. In his spare time, he enjoys hosting family and friends at his farm near Madison, Wisconsin.
