Guy McDonnell is a Senior Consultant for the Authentic Leadership Institute, a leadership consulting firm committed to creating leaders and organizations with a deeper purpose and the courage to transform their business impact.
Client work with the Institute has included both the consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical industries.
Guy provides world class coaching of leaders and high potentials based on working for 25 years with C-suite leaders on strategy, organization, and leadership development.
He was a Senior Partner in the Leadership & Talent Consulting Practice of Korn/Ferry International, the world’s largest Executive Search firm. He assessed and coached business leaders, executive teams, and the organizations they lead in 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA. He was a global leader of the Senior Team Effectiveness service offering.
Guy joined Korn/Ferry from Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson), the leading global People and HR Consultancy. He led the European Change Practice where he helped client leaders with - and leadership teams align around - business, organizational, and operational strategies. He specifically served clients in organizational design, cultural change, post merger integration, and outsourcing. Prior to Towers Perrin, Guy worked in food retailing for the Argyll Group plc, then a FTSE 50 company. He served in line, staff, and program leadership roles, including as Executive Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive, Sir Alastair Grant. As a Line Executive in Operations and Marketing, he led complex technology-driven, cross-organizational programs to transform processes, systems, and structure, both for delivering stock to stores and for enabling customers to scan their own purchases. He also defined Safeway’s brand differentiation during a mid-90s strategy review. Prior to Argyll, Guy was a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, defining business strategies, organization structures, and operational plans for clients.
Guy holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge. He has held Board positions with both UK and Global non-profit organizations for the last 25 years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
