5 Tips for Getting More Meaningful 360 Results

  • Invite people who know you well enough to provide relevant, meaningful feedback.
  • Include as many colleagues as possible: your boss, direct reports, colleagues and others who have had the chance to observe you in leadership situations, professional or otherwise. Asking at least 5 in each category (except boss, of course) is a good idea.

  • Get in touch with them individually in advance to request their participation. Let them know that their honest, anonymous feedback will help you achieve your goal of being a more authentic and effective leader.

  • Alert them to what’s involved: The survey administrator will contact your colleagues directly by email. They’ll be given a secure link to your online survey. It only takes about 20-25 minutes to complete.

  • Include as many colleagues who work closely with you as possible (yes, this advice is worth repeating). The more perspectives you have from people who know you well, the more meaningful the results. So over-invite. You won’t regret it.
